How to Program Charter Spectrum Remote Control
With the Charter Spectrum remote control, you can control your Spectrum receiver, RCA TV, Toshiba DVD player, and Pioneer audio receiver. You can control any other device by following these steps:

Initially, you will need to connect and power on all devices you intend to use the Charter Spectrum universal remote codes for. Connect and turn on all devices and ensure the remote is charged. Follow the instructions provided in Charter Spectrum’s universal remote code chart. The frustration of discovering you didn’t connect it to the TV or that the batteries are dead after spending an evening programming the Charter Spectrum universal remote control is hard to describe.
Programming Charter Spectrum Universal Remote Control
Step 1
Turn on the device with a DVD or Blu-ray disc inserted.
If you haven’t read steps 2 through 4, make sure you do so before continuing. Be sure to write down the codes and device you wish to program before proceeding to step 2.
Step2
Press a key on the remote control once for the appropriate unit (e.g. AUX, DVD, TV, CBL, or STB) to see the unit blink. When you’ve done that, hold down SETUP until the selected mode key blinks twice.
Step 3
By using the universal remote codes listed below, you can find out what type and brand of device you have. Enter the first five digits of the code corresponding to your device. If your code is correct, the device should blink twice.
When the long blink indicates that the mode key is selected, it is invalid to enter it. After repeating steps 2 and 3, enter the code again.
Step 4
Point the Spectrum Remote Control at the device and press the PWR button once. The device will shut down. You should continue to try all the codes for your brand until you find one that works. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you find one that does work. If you are not able to locate the code, try searching.
If the device lacks a PWR key, press the PLAY key instead.
Step 5
Steps 1 through 4 can be repeated to control more than one device. It is advisable to record the codes for each device for future use.
