How to Program your remote using the RF pairing:
- Ensure your TV and set-top box are turned on and your remote control batteries are installed.
- The LED at the top of the remote should turn green as soon as you press the “Setup” button.
- Select XFINITY from the menu
- You need to enter the 3-digit code that appears on your screen
- Use the following code to program your remote:
- You can now program the TV.
- Once the status LED above the remote changes from red to green, press and hold the “Setup” button.
- Use the number buttons to enter the 4-digit or 5-digit code listed below. The manual lists additional codes as well.
- Code most likely to be used
Two green flashes will appear on the LED if the code was entered correctly. In this case, the status LED would blink red then green indicating that the code was not entered correctly. Double-check that the code is entered correctly and try again.
Your TV can be controlled with the remote (use Power, Vol, etc.)
Please try again with another 4-digit or 5-digit code if the above steps do not resolve the issue.
How to Pair and Program Your Xfinity Voice Remote

Simple Steps to Program Your Xfinity Remote
Step 1 : Connect your TV and set-top box to the Internet.
Step 2 : To change the LED at the top of your remote from red to green, press the Setup button on your remote.
Step 3 : From the TV codes lookup tool, enter the universal remote code using the number buttons on the remote.
Step 4 : Input of the code should result in the LED flashing green twice.
Step 5 : The TV will power up when you press the power button on the remote.
Step 6 : Your remote has successfully been programmed to control your TV if it turns off.
How To Program X1 Remote Control to Your TV and Audio Device
Please try the following if you are unable to locate the code for your TV after following the steps above:
Step 1 : Hold down the Setup button for a few seconds and the LED at the top of the remote should turn green.
Step 2 :
Use the remote to dial 9-9-1. Two green flashes should appear on the LED.
Step 3 : The TV will turn off when you press the CH * button multiple times.
Step 4 : Immediately after turning off the TV, press Setup.
Step 5 : You can power on the TV by pressing the power button on the remote. Your remote control has successfully been programmed to control your TV if it turns on.
Troubleshoot Xfinity Remote
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot your Comcast Xfinity remote if it does not respond or works as expected.
Xfinity Remote Buttons are not responding
- To use the remote, press this button:
- Try replacing the batteries if the LED doesn’t flash at all.
- This indicates that the batteries are very low and should be replaced if the LED flashes five times when a button is pressed.
Try Factory Reset of Xfinity Remote with a Setup Button (XR11)
You may need to perform a factory reset if you cannot use the Voice Remote (model XR11). Here’s how to do it:
- By pressing the Setup button until the LED at the top of the remote changes to green, the remote has been set up.
- Enter 9-8-1.
- If you reset the remote, you will see a green LED blink twice.
You’ll have to reconnect your remote and TV Box after a factory reset
Factory Reset the Xfinity Voice Remote without a Setup Button (XR15)
It may be necessary to perform a factory reset if the buttons on your Voice Remote (XR15) are still unresponsive. Performing a factory reset is as follows:
- When the status light changes from red to green, press and hold the A (triangle) and D (diamond) buttons simultaneously for three seconds.
- Dial 9-8-1.
- Indication of a reset will be a blinking blue LED three times.
Disconnecting Your Xfinity Voice Remote from TV
You can’t use the remote with another TV until the connection between the TV and the remote is broken.
Follow below instructions for xfinity remotes with a Setup button:
- You must hold down the Setup button for three seconds in order to change the status light from red to green.
- Press 9-8-1 on the remote. The LED light on the remote will blink green twice if it is disconnected from the TV.
If you have a remote without a Setup button, just use the number keys (or XR15, Xfinity X1, or Flex Voice Remote):
- The status light will change from red to green when you hold the A (triangle) and D (diamond) buttons simultaneously for three seconds.
- Press 9-8-1 on the remote. Now Comcast xfinity remote is disconnected from TV if the status light blinks twice blue. The connection between the remote and TV is often referred to as pairing.
