How To Program A Dish Remote Control

Listed below are instructions on programming a DISH Network remote control.

  1. Point the remote at the device while you are at the device location. Keep your remote in device mode and push the button. You should see the mode buttons light up.

  2. Use the DISH remote to press POWER on the receiver. You should see a light on the device button.

  3. The remote needs to be pressed about once every second for up and down arrows. If you are not pressing the up or down arrow during the scan, then the mode light will remain on, but it will go out as soon as you press an arrow. Once the scanner has finished scanning, continue with step 5. Please allow several minutes for this process to complete. Turn off the TV.

  4. The mode light will blink rapidly for two seconds once every time you press up or down, and will only illuminate when all codes have been cycled through. Usually this takes about five minutes.   5. By pressing the POUND (#) button. You should see three flashes of the mode button.

  6. Turn on your device by pressing the POWER button on the remote. If that doesn’t work, repeat step 1. Now you can use the remote to control the device.
