How To Program Comcast XFINITY Remote Control

This article describes how to program the Comcast XFINITY remote to control the TV. Instructions are provided on how to set up your XFINITY remote to run on auto mode. To control your TV or DVD player if automatic mode does not work, use the remote control code.

Choose your Comcast Xfinity remote control

The XFINITY remote can be programmed to control your TV by entering the manufacturer’s code (3 digits, 4 digits, or 5 digits). Then follow the steps below:

1. Switch on your TV and set-top box.
2. When the LED at the top of your remote changes from red to green, you have pressed the Setup button.
3. Using the number buttons on the remote, enter the universal remote code in the TV codes lookup tool.
4. Once the code is entered, the LED should blink green twice.
5. Use the remote control to turn on the TV.
6. If your TV turns off after you program the remote, you have successfully programmed your remote.

How To Learn the X1 Remote Control Layout

After following the steps above, if you still cannot find the code for your TV, you should:

Hold down the Setup button until the LED changes to green at the top of the remote.

Use the remote control to dial 9-9-1. Two green flashes should appear on the LED.

By pressing the CH * button repeatedly, the TV will turn off.

Once the TV has been turned off, press Setup.

By pressing the TV power button on your remote, you can turn the TV on. Upon turning on your TV, your remote will have been successfully programmed.
