The instructions for programming the Jumbo Universal Remote Control can be used to program devices such as TVs, Blue Ray players, Rokus, cable boxes, etc. When the buttons are large, it’s easy to see them and operate them without unintended problems. Instructions for Programming the Remote
Your remote can be programmed in two ways. Using your remote, you can manually program your device’s code if you know it already. The remote control can be programmed using the code search function if you don’t know the code.
How to program universal remote codes for Jumbo
Using Code Search:
- To program a remote into a device, turn it on.
- Scan the device with your remote control
- The remote light should stay on for about 3 seconds after pressing the “Code Search” button.
- Use the remote control to program the desired device. You can program the TV by pressing the “TV” button, or you can program the DVD player by pressing the “DVD” button, etc. When you program the TV, the light will blink and remain on.
- Press the power button to turn the device off, then release the button slowly. The light should blink every time you press the power button.
- The light will turn off when you press “Enter” to save the code into the remote.
Program a Manual Code:
- You will need to turn on the device that you wish to program, like a TV or DVD player.
- Use the remote control to control the device.
- Press the button on the remote that corresponds to the device. If you want to program the TV, press the TV button.
- Press the “Code Search” button for about 3 seconds until the light stays on.
- Use the number pad to enter your device’s code. When you press a button, the light will blink. After the code is entered, the light turns off. Flashing indicates a missed code. One device may have more than one code. Holding down the search button while holding down the code does not work, so start over and use a new code.
- Turn off your device by pressing the power button. The code must be repeated if the device fails to turn off.
Retrieving the Code for your Device:
In case you need to retrieve the code from the remote for future reference, you can look up the code from the remote when you use the code search functionality to program your device. You can do this by:
- Depress and hold the Code Search button for 3 seconds until the light turns on.
- Touch the button on the device you want to retrieve the code from. If you want the TV code, press TV. Once the light blinks, it will stay on.
- Press the numbers 0 through 9. The first number in the code is indicated by the blinking of the light.
- You will need to repeat these steps for the second and third digits of the code. As soon as you retrieve the third digit, the light will go out.
Programming the Sleep Setting:
- Keep holding the “SLEEP” button until the light remains on.
- Enter 2 digits (01 to 99) for the number of minutes to use for the timer using the number pad. Click the button to begin the timer.
- Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device.
- For the sleep timer to be cancelled, press the power button once or hold the sleep button down until the light blinks once.
