Where Is The Power Button on Vizio TV?

In recent years, Vizio TVs have been known to lack a clearly labeled power button that is easily visible.

You’ll get pretty frustrated looking for your TV remote if you lose it!

With your back to your Vizio TV, the power button is on the right back side, below the HDMI port, on newer models. Power buttons on older Vizio TVs are located on the left side bezel or on the bottom left corner of the bezel on the front.

There is a manual power button on every Vizio TV, you just have to look for it!

How to Find the Power Button on Different Vizio TVs

Before 2015, Vizio TVs

The power button on a TV was much easier to find before the “slim, highly aesthetic” trend took hold. The power button may be found in one of two places if your Vizio TV is more than a few years old:

1) Faced toward the TV, on the frame’s front (called a bezel), usually in the bottom left cornerWhere Is The Power Button on Vizio TV

2) Left of the TV’s bezel, facing the screenWhere Is The Power Button on Vizio TV

If you can’t see the buttons, you can find them within seconds by sensing around the bezel with your fingers on older Vizio TVs.

Vizio’s older TV designs didn’t make much effort to hide them, so you’ll be able to detect them easily.

TVs made by Vizio since 2015

The buttons on the newer Vizio TV models are very small, hard to use, and difficult to find.

Instead of continuing to use these buttons, I strongly recommend replacing your lost or broken remote.

Here’s how to find the power button for your Vizio TV if you need it.

  1. Turn your back to the TV.
  2. Touch the bottom right corner with your hand.
  3. Put your hand just below the HDMI input ports on the back of the TV.
  4. There should be a power button right there. Where Is The Power Button on Vizio TV

You can use the above method rather than moving your TV around and craning your neck to look at the buttons if your TV is in a tight spot or mounted against a wall.

Once you’ve figured out how to use the buttons on your Vizio TV, what are they for and what do they do?

The faint markings on the buttons may be visible if you peek behind your TV. Each button has a different function, and usually there are three:

  • The top button is the power button for Vizio TVs
  • A volume control button is located in the middle of the button
  • You can change the input source of the TV using the bottom button.

On a Vizio TV, you’ll find that the buttons aren’t always designed to be used. You don’t want to be dependent on them if you lose your remote, but they can be useful if you’ve lost your remote.

Why are Vizio TV Buttons Hard to Find?

When it comes to modern TVs, there are three things that matter:

  1. Quality of the picture
  2. Features of smart TVs
  3. Aesthetics

The power buttons are difficult to find due to their aesthetics. Slimmer, sleeker, and more artistically designed televisions are on the rise – often at the expense of physical features such as power buttons.

You won’t have any trouble if you have your remote. The absence of big, obnoxious buttons actually makes sense – why would you want to ruin your TV’s appearance with big, obnoxious buttons?

Unfortunately, if you lose or break your remote control, you suddenly find it hard to use because there are no easy-to-use buttons.

Vizio SmartCast App

With Vizio SmartCast Mobile, you can control your Vizio Smart TV directly from your phone via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

It is just a matter of downloading it and connecting your phone and TV to the same wireless network.

The Vizio TV App is ideal for users who lose their remote and don’t want to resort to the hard-to-find/feel buttons on the TV.

Even if you don’t want to replace your remote, you can still control your TV just as easily (and for free) from your phone.
